Castle peak ‘A’ Power
Station comprises four 350-MW generators and four 50-MW gas
turbine units, switchgear houses, control and administration
blocks and ancillary buildings for which Kumagai constructed
the services, roads, cooling water culverts, building and
architectural works and all associated works. Site formation
started in late 1978 and the first 350-MW unit was commissioned
and put into service in March 1982. The fourth unit
went on-stream at the end of 1984.
Castle Peak ‘B’ Power Station comprises four
660-MW generators and other buildings and features similar
to those in the ‘A’ Station but on a larger scale
for which Kumagai carried out the same works they performed
for the ‘A’ Station together with the supply and
erection of the structural steelwork (some 50,000 tonnes).
Work commenced in May 1982 and the first unit went on-stream
in December 1985. |
