Shatin New Town Areas 11 and 51 Reclamation (1978-1981) $88M

 

This one of major reclamation projects which enabled the development and expansion of he Shatin new town. The contract involved the construction of 2,300m of seawalls with 1.2 million cubic metres of filling, the dredging of 590,000 cubic metres from the seabed, and the building of a large culvert, some small bridges and drainage facilities on the reclaimed land.

Junk Bay Sanitary Landfill (1979-1982) $73M

 

 

Reclamation for Best Homes Marina, Ho Chung, Sai Kung
(renamed Marina Cove) (1978-1982) $74M

 

This was the largest reclamation in Sai Kung in the early 1980s.  Kumagai undertook reclamation of 8 hectares of land and the construction of 3 km of seawall and moorings for 400 yachts.

Tsuen Wan Bypass Reclamation (1980-1983) $133M

 

The project involved the reclamation of 19 hectares on which a major highway was later built.

Tsing Yi Area 8 Reclamation (1983-1985) $80M

 

 

Junk Bay Reclamation (1983-1985) $72M

 

This was one of the first reclamation projects which produced the infrastructure for numerous residential developments in Junk Bay in the years to come.

Sai Kung Junk Bay Reclamation (1983-1985) $50M

 

 

 

 

 

Airport Advance Works, Chek Lap Kok (1991-1992) $675M

 

This project involved the dredging of seabed materials, construction of rockfill seawalls, reclamation of 14 hectares, design and construction of site camps, power, fire services, fresh and foul water system systems for future airport works.

West Kowloon Expressway Northern Section (1991-1994) $1,554M

 

Kumagai was in a joint venture with Maeda Corporation of Japan and HAM of Holland for this large-scale project.  Works included the formation of 157 hectares of land between Tai Kok Tsui and Lai Chi Kok, the dredging of 8  million cum, the reclamation of 65 hectares of land, the construction of 7 piers including the Hong Kong Yaumatei Ferry Pier at Tai Kok Tsui and the China Resources Pier at Cheung Sha Wan, and extensive drainage and road works on the reclamation areas.

 

CV/99/12 – Penny's Bay Reclamation (2000-2002) $3,977M

 

The Group was in a joint venture contract with dredging expert Ballast Ham Group from Holland. The project involves dredging and reclamation to form some 200 hectares of land and is a major infrastructure project relating to the establishment of Disneyland on Lantau.
