Tuen Mun Road (1974-1978) $222M
Chuk Yuen Road Extension (1980-1981) $9M

The Tuen Mun Road is a dual 3-lane restricted access motorway linking the two industrial towns of Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun in the western New Territories. Sidelong ground, deep valleys and a tidal inlet necessitated the incorporation of 17 bridges in the design. The road construction was divided into 7 contracts of which Kumagai were awarded 4 (about 75% in value).

Tai Po Bypass (1982-1985) $200M

The Tai Po Bypass is a dual 2-and 3-lane road (part of the main link to Guangdong) through virgin country behind Tai Po. Four of its five major bridges were re-designed to eliminate the need for 30m-high load-bearing falsework by employing incremental launching from one abutment.

West Kowloon Expressway Northern Section (1993-1996) $1,270M

Kumagai was in a joint venture with Maeda Corporation of Japan and China Road and Bridge Corporation of China for the construction of this 2.7 km dual 3-lane elevated expressway with 900m of distribution roads, 3 km of noise barriers and one interchange. This was one of the Chek Lap Kok Airport core projects.

Wong Chu Road & Associated Interchanges Improvement and
Noise Mitigation Works (1998-2002) $598M

This major civil works project is carried out by a joint venture between HKC (Holdings) Ltd and AMEC International Construction Ltd. Works include the construction of a dual two-lane carriageway, the widening of a slip road, the realignment of a section of Wong Chu Road, the extension of a pedestrian subway and extensive viaduct enclosures for noise mitigation. The completed road network will help alleviate heavy traffic arising from the proposed development of the Tuen Mun river trade terminal and a fourth industrial estate.

Widening of Tolo Highway between Island House Interchange and Ma Liu Shui Interchange (1999-2003) $860M
	This main contract for the widening of Tolo Highway is a major civil works contract involving the construction of roads, drainage, and highway structures; marine works including dredging and reclamation; excavation and landscaping.
West Kowloon Expressway Northern Section
	The Group was in a joint venture with Maeda Corporation of Japan and HAM of Holland for this large-scale project. Works included the formation of 157 hectares of land between Tai Kok Tsui and Lai Chi Kok, the dredging of 8 million cum, the reclamation of 65 hectares of land, the construction of 7 piers including the Hong Kong Yaumatei Ferry Pier at Tai Kok Tsui and the China Resources Pier at Cheung Sha Wan, and extensive drainage and road works on the reclamation areas.
