Castle Peak ¡¥A¡¦ and ¡¥B¡¦ Power Stations,

Castle peak ¡¥A¡¦ Power Station comprises four 350-MW generators and four 50-MW gas turbine units, switchgear houses, control and administration blocks and ancillary buildings for which Kumagai constructed the services, roads, cooling water culverts, building and architectural works and all associated works.  Site formation started in late 1978 and the first 350-MW unit was commissioned and put into service in March 1982.  The fourth unit went on-stream at the end of 1984.

Castle Peak ¡¥B¡¦ Power Station comprises four 660-MW generators and other buildings and features similar to those in the ¡¥A¡¦ Station but on a larger scale for which Kumagai carried out the same works they performed for the ¡¥A¡¦ Station together with the supply and erection of the structural steelwork (some 50,000 tonnes). Work commenced in May 1982 and the first unit went on-stream in December 1985.

 

 

Penny¡¦s Bay Gas Turbine Power Station, Lantau

This is the third power station Kumagai constructed for China Light & Power Co Ltd, after Castle Peak ¡¥A¡¦ and ¡¥B¡¦ Station. Located in Penny¡¦s Bay, Lantau, the contract included all foundations and superstructures for the gas turbine-powered plant.

Yangpu Power Station

 (1993-1994) $2,000,000,000

Design and Build

 

Kumagai was in a joint venture with Ringo Trading Ltd of China and Maeda Corporation of Japan for this turnkey project. In its first phase, the gas turbine power station has an output of 314 MW.
