Shatin New Town Areas 11 and 51
Reclamation (1978-1981) $88,000,000 This one of major reclamation projects
which enabled the development and expansion of he Shatin
new town. The contract involved the construction of 2,300m of seawalls with 1.2
million cubic metres of filling, the dredging of
590,000 cubic metres from the seabed, and the
building of a large culvert, some small bridges and drainage facilities on
the reclaimed land. |

Reclamation for Best Homes Marina, Ho Chung, Sai Kung (renamed Marina Cove) (1979-1982)
$74,000,000 This was the largest reclamation in Sai Kung in the early 1980s. Kumagai
undertook reclamation of 8 hectares of land and the construction of 3 km of
seawall and moorings for 400 yachts. |
